A leading Slovak hotel has sent its support to Danny Welbeck who is set to play in the first England game at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Mexico had earlier shocked Germany as they beat the world champions in their opening game. Tens of thousands of Mexicans descended on Moscow to support their team and partied all night.
Meanwhile, despite expected trouble England, fans arriving in Volgograd for their team’s opening match with Tunisia, were warmly greeted by locals.
Danny had also earned himself a place in the hearts of Slovaks when, as a teenage member of Manchester United’s Academy, he used the AquaCity national training centre in Poprad to learn the soccer skills which now have him aiming for the top.
Dr Jan Telensky, majority share holder of AquaCity, said: “We are so proud our training facilities can produce world-class players. Good luck to Danny and the entire English squad.”
He has been tipped by former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler to play opening group stage fixture against Tunisia.
