A former UK Justice Minister is supporting a retired detective who claims Metropolitan police deliberately ruined his life after he tried to expose horrific cases of child sex abuse.
John Wedger claims he was forced into early retirement after a breakdown while working to expose Britain’s perverts.
The former detective constable says he was bullied after filing an intelligence report alleging that a London a pimp was prostituting girls as young as nine to a leading judge. Police were doing nothing about it, he says.
Wedger says he was told by a leading Met officer to shut up or be ‘thrown to the wolves’.
He said: “I joined the police to serve the community and make a difference. I have wholeheartedly, loyally and relentlessly pursued, arrested and prosecuted those I was tasked to target.
“Yet for doing so and digging up information the police did not want to deal with, my life was made hell.”
Hemel Hempstead MP Sir Mike Penning has given his full support to Wedger in a campaign to protect police whistle-blowers.
Sir Mike said in his blog: “I have supported Jon since day one for both exposing the horrendous child prostitution case that he believes was being covered up and also for his apparent appalling treatment since becoming a police whistle-blower when his life was made a living hell.
“At the end of the day, all I want to see is the truth come out and I fully support his courageous efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice and in campaigning for a change in the law to better protect police whistle-blowers.”
Now Wedger has also made claims about the Satanic abuse of children in the upper echelons of British society, claims investigated for many years by consumerwatchfoundation.com editor Leigh G Banks.
CWF has contacted Sir Mike’s offices on five occasions asking for his views on Wedger’s Satanism claims and to confirm he is still supporting him in his battle. We have not received a response.
Wedger, who lives in a £300,000 house in Hemel. has embarked on a number of fund-raising activities – including walking from London to Manchester along the canal network where he says scores of sex offenders live ‘under the radar’ on canal barges.
This was part of the inquiry he says police chiefs crushed.
He said: “I found a lot of paedophiles were going off the radar. There was a loophole in the law that allowed them to live on canal boats without being on the electoral register. This is why I walked the canals, just to let them know I know they are there.”
After identifying scores of perverts using the canal network, Wedger says he was taken off the job.
Sir Mike Penning: “From talking to Jon it is clear that we need a truly independent organisation to help police whistle-blowers. Once a police officer finds themselves in a position of being a whistle-blower, they are truly on their own. It takes tremendous courage and bravery to pursue it, but this shouldn’t be the case.”
Wedger also joined the Child Abuse Investigation Command in Haringey where he became involved with the inquiry into baby Peter Connell’s death in 2007.
But in a series of videoed interviews sent to the consumerwatchfoundation.com Wedger, who now lives on his police pension, says the upper echelons of British society are riddled with Satanic abuse.
Leigh G Banks, a former national newspaper journalist now consumerwatchfoundation editor, uncovered similar evidence when he was investigating Jimmy Savile, Stewart Hall and Cyril Smith, although there is no suggestion these abusers were actually involved in anything occult.
Leigh said: “The late 70s and early 80s was a time when Satanic abuse was being banded about all over the place. I worked with an organisation called Reachout.
“One of its clients claimed that since childhood she was being used as ‘factory’ to produce babies for sacrifice by a coven in the North-west of England. Members of the organisation claimed to have rescued at least 70 young people from covens.
“A couple of years later the NSPCC gave the claims more credibility when it put out a press release saying that it had also been called on to help in seven cases of ritual abuse.
“Then Cleveland happened in 1987 and social workers reported almost 100 cases a month of child abuse.
“Next Nottingham and Rochdale. But the claims were roundly discredited and so were social workers and carers who made them.
“Children were actually denounced as fantasists.
“Mr Justice Brown, a Manchester High Court Judge, passing judgement on the Rochdale child abuse debacle, said: ‘Satanic abuse was highly unlikely as it usually involved people of high intelligence, a description which cannot be attributed to people of the area we are talking about.’”
Equally shocking, in March 1976 the National Council for Civil Liberties said this, ‘NCCL proposes that the age of consent should be lowered to 14, with special provision for situations where the partners are close in age or where the consent of a child over ten can be proved.”
The document, relating to an NCCL report on sexual law reform, said: “The report argues that the crime of incest should be abolished.
“In our view, no benefit accrues to anyone by making incest a crime when committed between mutually consenting persons over the age of consent.”
Former Labour politician Patricia Hewitt finally broke her silence about the events 40 years later and apologised for her role in the scandal. She had been asked to explain why the NCCL had pledged its “support” for the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE).
Miss Hewitt said recently: “I should have urged the council to take strong measures to protect NCCL’s integrity from the activities of PIE members and sympathisers and I deeply regret not having done so.”
PIE was formed in 1974. It campaigned for “children’s sexuality”.
Leigh said: “This was a bizarre time in the history of Britain’s attitude to children. But every time we got close to the truth, something happened to squash the stories, just as things have apparently been happening to Jon Wedger.”
Wedger put it this way in the video made by Air1.TV: “With respect to Satanism, 90 per cent of victims now say it was involved in their abuse. I have evidence of it happening in care homes and many other places. The problem with Satanism is that it is a very covert thing and if you are involved, you are in it. You cannot be a spectator, you have to be involved.”
In another section of the three part interview Wedger says: “The home lives of children are being disabled, I think this goes to Government levels… why would they want to cover up child abuse? Why would they want to create dysfunctionality in families?
“Satanic ritual abuse is the elephant in the room … we are heading toward an atheistic society. Paedophilia brings together people who would never be together in society normally. This is the biggest secret society in the world.”
Sections of these videos will appear on the consumerwatchfoundation.com in the next few days.
Wedger claims there are 30 whistle-blowers across the UK who are being stifled.
Maggie Oliver, from Rochdale, has said in the past that her life also became unbearable after she reported police corruption to senior officers.
Oliver, who was a detective who exposed the recent Rochdale child abuse scandal, has claimed she was bullied by police chiefs for speaking out on grooming gangs.
Oliver said her professional life became “torture” after she told senior officers that police were not doing enough to protect girls from a paedophile ring.
The former detective constable resigned from Greater Manchester Police in late 2012.
However before she quit she alleges she was bullied for a year and a half while working on Operation Span, the investigation into Rochdale.
She said: “I’ve never spoken publicly about my personal treatment because I never wanted to deflect from the fact the police had failed the child victims of Rochdale.”
